Delicious Organic Food Tailor-Made to Prepare Your Body for Conception

You are what you eat; a phrase most of us is familiar with but what many people don’t realise is that everything you eat and drink becomes part of your body and as such affects your health and fertility levels. Getting the right nutritional balance from our food is key for conception as it has the potential to affect our hormone levels, absorption of essential nutrients, blood sugar levels and wellbeing.

Fertility experts recommend eating fresh, unprocessed, organic food as much as possible to increase your chances of fertility, with regular small meals of protein and fresh vegetables to keep your hormone, blood sugar and energy levels stable and your weight under control. We are all unique though, with individual nutritional requirements for our health and wellbeing, so how do you know you are getting the right balance? We believe we can help. The science behind the solution…

Soulmate Food’s ethos is to transform the way you look at food, help you learn which foods are working with your body and which are to be avoided, and ensure you are getting everything you need to prepare your body for conception.

Living food like fruit, vegetables, nuts and seeds are nutritionally superior to packaged processed foods and our delicious fresh organic meals are packed full of the following essential nutrients your body needs.

  • Protein—repairs and renews cells, transports oxygen and nutrients, produces hormones, helps fight infection and grow new tissues for muscles and bones. The building blocks of protein, the amino acids, are essential for proper building and functioning of eggs and reproductive hormones, and we need approximately 60-70 grams of protein per day. Sources of good quality protein include meat, fish, eggs, dairy, lentils, peas, beans, nuts, pumpkin seeds and quinoa.
  • Fats – Essential Fatty Acids—make hormones, transport cholesterol, help reduce inflammation, keep skin healthy and reduce symptoms of PMS. Saturated fats found in meat and dairy products are not essential and should be eaten rarely, if at all. Sources of EFAs include nuts and seeds, as well as fish, flaxseed and evening primrose oils – known as omega 3-6-9 and essential for the development of brain, immune, cardiovascular, integumentary (skin) and nervous systems.
  • Carbohydrates—the body's basic fuel source comes in two forms; fast-releasing (including sugar, honey, sweet and refined foods) and slow-releasing (vegetables, wholegrains, pulses and fresh fruit). We recommend avoiding fast-releasing carbs as much as possible as these are nutrient void and spike your blood-sugar causing a crash.
  • Micronutrients and Phytochemicals—comprising vitamins, minerals and phytochemicals (bioflavonoids, carotenoids, antioxidants and phytoestrogens). Enough fruit and vegetables in the diet will help to ensure you are getting enough of these vital substances.
  • Fibre – helps to reduce the risks of colon cancer, gall stone formation, diabetes, cardiovascular disease and bowel problems. Too much wheat fibre in your diet can rob your body of Oestrogen and block the uptake of essential nutrients. Your bowels get rid of old hormones so eating the right quantity of fibre is essential – we recommend at least 35g of fibre intake per day. Sources include wholegrains, vegetables, fruit, nuts, seeds and legumes.
